Local Chapter Graduate ScholarshipAnnually the New Orleans chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) Scholarship Fund offers the Miriam G. Berdou, CPA Scholarship to a student pursuing an advanced degree in accounting. Miriam G. Berdou, CPA served as the Chapter's first President from 1958-1959. The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded each year are determined by the Scholarship Trustees. Please contact the Student Development Chair for more information about this year's scholarship program. Scholarships will be paid to recipients' schools after July 1st. When reviewing applications, the Scholarship Committee considers the following when making their selections:

Only completed applications with all attachments that are received by the deadline will be considered. All information received by ASWA is held in the strictest of confidence. Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, national origin, sex, religion, age, handicaps or marital status. Completed scholarship applications must be received by Wednesday, March 10, 2006. Send completed applications to: ASWA If more than one student applies from your school, we will solicit help from your school's scholarship committee in choosing a nominee from your school for the local scholarship. We plan to choose the scholarship winners during the first week of April. If a Nicholls student is awarded a scholarship, I'll let you know promptly so that the student can be recognized at your honors convocation. Hard copies of the scholarship application will be mailed upon request. For a hard copy of the application or if you have any questions, please contact the Student Development Chair. |
